Triple Hop Beer & Illustration Exhibition
The exhibition brought together the noble pursuits of drawing and boozing and was designed showcase the Column artists’ work in a new way – on illustrated labels of limited edition craft beers.
Triple Hop was launched on Thursday 24 October 2013 at 14 Warren Street, London. The gallery was kindly provided by East Street Arts.
Attendees tasted five unique collaboration beers, including Column’s own Space Chicken spiced pumpkin pale ale. Honest Brew’s beer gurus were on-hand to provide a tasting guide for each of beers. Exhibition goers also witnessed the brewing process live in the gallery and watched live drawing from Trou, Benjamin Murphy and Captain Kris!
Each of the taster beers had four limited edition labels created for it by the Column Arts Agency and Test Space artists.
Triple Hop was a resounding success (even if we do say so ourselves)! More than 150 people attended the ticketed opening event and in the month following the launch we noticed a 20 percent increase in website inquiries.
The show’s digital PR campaign did really well too. Articles were published in the likes of Creative Review, Time Out London and What’s Brewing. Time Out tweeted about the show to their 200,000 followers and we had sterling twitter support from CAMRA members from across the South East of England.
Inspired by Triple Hop, Column Arts Agency have been invited to curate a beer and exhibition by the lovely people from Summer Wine Brewery, Yorkshire. We’re really excited! Stay tuned for more art beer news!
