Hi there! Guess you’re here to read all about Column Arts Agency’s latest illustration project. You lucky devil!
Client Name:
What Do They Do:
Leading UK charity DrugScope support professionals that work in drug and alcohol treatment, teaching prevention and criminal justice.
DrugScope also publishes bi-monthly magazine DrugLink. Aimed at people interested drug-related issues, it includes the latest news and features about drug treatment, public health, crime and education.
Project Brief:
Column Arts Agency were delighted to be commissioned by DrugScope to create a front cover illustration for July/August 2013 edition of DrugLink.
The magazine was being launched as a stand-alone digital publication for the very first time and Column was asked to create a dynamic electric illustration that reflected the concept of ‘plugged-in’.
Achievements:
Column Arts Agency quickly worked with the DrugScope team to create a brief for the project and helped them to choose an artist for the job. They picked illustrator Guy McKinley for his use of vibrant colours.
Working within a very tight deadline Guy delivered three rounds of sketches to DrugScope and created the final artwork with three days to spare. He even provided three extra colour options!
DrugLink has a readership of 15,000 so you can see why everyone at the arts agency is so excited about this project!
Quote:
Column Arts Agency founder William Astbury said: “We were over the moon to get the opportunity to work with DrugScope.
“They are a charity that works for an incredible important cause and DrugLink educates and updates many people about the currents issues surrounding drug-use.
“I think Guy created a wonderful cover illustration that is not only exciting but fits the brief to a tee!”
